Attorney Hillary Borcherding Joins Growing Gravel & Shea Litigation Team

Gravel & Shea is proud to welcome Hillary Borcherding to the firm. As an Associate Attorney on the litigation team, she will serve clients on a variety of issues, including civil and family law disputes as well as regulatory matters.

“I am thrilled to join the team at Gravel & Shea,” Hillary said of her new position. “I was attracted to the firm because of its impeccable professional reputation and its full-service offerings.”

“I’m excited to work with many different types of clients on a wide variety of legal issues. As a litigator, this means I’ll have the opportunity to put my past experience to work for local clients while also growing and expanding my practice to new areas of law.”

Prior to joining Gravel & Shea, Hillary worked for a large multinational law firm in Boston. She graduated Valedictorian of Suffolk Law School, where she served as Lead Articles Editor of the Law Review and received the award for best brief.

“Hillary joins Gravel & Shea with litigation experience at a well-known Boston law firm,” said Gravel & Shea Shareholder Jerry O’Neill. “Her writing skills and her positive attitude—along with her developing litigation skills—will fit in well with the firm’s already strong litigation team. Her experience will support and enhance Gravel & Shea’s ability to provide excellent service to its litigation clients.”

Litigator Amanda Hemley Paulino Named Special Counsel

Gravel & Shea recently promoted Litigation Associate Amanda Hemley Paulino to Special Counsel. Amanda joined the firm in December 2012.

“The past five years with Gravel & Shea has been a wonderful experience,” said Amanda. “I have enjoyed becoming part of the Burlington legal community and working on behalf of many great clients. I’m looking forward to continuing that service as Special Counsel for Gravel & Shea.”

Amanda practices in all areas of litigation, with a specialty in family law and criminal defense. Prior to joining Gravel & Shea, Amanda was a prosecutor in the Florida State Attorney’s office in Miami. She represented the State of Florida in over fifty trials, working closely with crime victims.

“When Amanda joined the firm 5 years ago, she was already a skilled trial attorney. She brought a depth of courtroom experience that most young lawyers simply don’t have. Amanda is highly perceptive and skilled at relationship building, which makes her an excellent advocate for her clients,” said Gravel & Shea Shareholder Robert O’Neill.

“Within weeks of stepping foot in the courthouse here in Burlington, there wasn’t a person she didn’t know and have a good relationship with. Since then, she’s honed her skills and become an even greater asset to Gravel & Shea.”

Litigator Navah Spero Elected Gravel & Shea Shareholder

The Gravel & Shea Shareholders are proud to welcome Navah Spero to their ranks. Navah joined the firm as an associate in October 2011.

“I am honored to be a shareholder at Gravel & Shea,” said Navah. “Working with and learning from some of the best attorneys in the area has been a wonderful experience. I look forward to continuing to provide high-quality counsel to my clients and helping to build the next generation of Gravel & Shea attorneys.”

Navah maintains a varied litigation practice, working on everything from personal injury cases to complex contract disputes. She also works closely with the firm’s trusts and estates attorneys to manage a specialty in trusts and estates litigation.

“Gravel & Shea was fortunate to have Navah join the firm six years ago as an associate,” said Gravel & Shea Shareholder Jerry O’Neill. “She is well regarded and much liked by clients in all of the diverse areas of her work, and her litigation skills are respected by both judges and adversaries. Her special focus on trust and probate litigation has enhanced Gravel & Shea’s practice in this important area of client need.”

“We couldn’t be happier that Navah is joining us as a shareholder,” said Gravel & Shea Shareholder Heather Hammond. “Since her first days at the firm, she has stood out in the legal community as a strong and effective litigator. Within the firm, she has demonstrated leadership and an enthusiastic commitment to the firm’s core values. She is an integral part of Gravel & Shea’s future.”
