Pauline Law

Problem solving and analytical thinking come naturally to Pauline Law, an associate specializing in corporate, commercial and securities law. Pauline’s practice also includes advising clients on employment, intellectual property and tax matters. “Our clients are focused on getting the deal completed in an efficient and positive manner, and so am I,” says Law. “My role is to quickly identify pitfalls and priorities so that I can help clients concentrate on their bottom line.”

She joined Gravel & Shea’s corporate team in 2012 after receiving her J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School and a Business & Public Policy Certificate from the Wharton School of Business.

As part of the corporate team, Pauline provides outside general counsel services to start-ups and established businesses located throughout Vermont and the United States at all phases of the business lifecycle, from initial company formation to the sale of the company, and everything that occurs in between – including raising outside capital, managing corporate acquisitions and licensing transactions, and navigating business and employee disputes. She relishes digging into the issues that clients face in a variety of industries, including the food and beverage, information technology and manufacturing industries.

When she’s not engaged in her corporate practice, Pauline gives back to the community through non-profit advisory work and by representing indigent refugees in guardianship proceedings, pro bono. “As a child of immigrants,” says Pauline, “I understand what it’s like to be in a system that you don’t really understand and where you don’t have much guidance.” For her pro bono work, Pauline was recently awarded the Vermont Bar Association’s Pro Bono Service Award.

The same commitment guides both Pauline’s corporate and pro bono work—a strong focus on providing excellent service. At Gravel & Shea, says Pauline, her colleagues’ thoughtfulness and intellectual diversity help her satisfy her main goal each day: to provide good resolutions for everyone who works with her.
